Understanding Participatory Budgeting and Micro-economics
This wiki page provides a mock up of a simple, downloadable Interactive Supply and Demand Chart. The chart is for demonstration and educational purposes and is though still in beta annd limited in scope can be downloaded. It should not be used to make actual budgetary decisions. The intention is to help explain the basics concepts of supply and demand before moving on to other aspects of micro-economics that will influence not only municipal budgeting decisions but the community economy. Input of numbers is made in the yellow colored cells. Final output is shown in the bluish-green cells and on the chart. Both Demand and Supply are defined by price on the Y axis and quantity on the X axis. Changes in demand, price of demand, supply or price of supply will move the demand or supply curve as applicable. This mock up shows the effect of adding 20 units to supply while leaving the price of supply and demand the same. The next chart is Micro-Economic Impacts on Community Budgeting 2.
